Reminiscing

Roman Grover Elgan was born on September 27th 2006. He was 5 days late ( I should have known then he was stubborn). They had to start me and I ended up being there for 23 hours before he finally came. I got my epidural after 6 hours of pretty intense contractions and was feeling pretty good until 5 hours later I started feeling them all over again for another 4 hours before they re-did my epidural. Roman will be 2 in four days so I have been thinking a lot about when he was born. So here are some pics to help you visualize :) 

Here I am in the midst of a pretty killer contraction (Im feelin everything). Nick had been holding my hand in between and as soon as this contraction started I said "don't touch me!" this pic is right after I said that. The contractions were not even a minute and a half apart from the beginning of one to the beginning of another. All the while my epidural is not working :( it was pretty brutal. 

Here he is! This is Rome's first picture! They are sucking the gunk out of his lungs. 

He looks like a little old man. Here is is looking at me for the first time.

We are checkin each other out. I loved him so much right away it was insane!

Ahhh and here is the happy family. After 23 hours of hell, we got an angel. You can tell Im pretty drugged eh? haha

I love my son so much and I can't believe he is almost 2. Everything I went through from a bad pregnancy to a far from smooth delivery was sooo worth it!
